Preparing for a Session
Because Biofield Tuning is vibrational medicine, there are no direct contraindications. However, see the official Biofield Tuning webpage Cautions & Guidance (it will open as a .pdf) to see if you are a good candidate for Biofield Tuning. Biofield Tuning may be limited in its efficacy due to certain conditions outlined in the cautions & guidance sheet.

It is advised to come to your session well-hydrated in loose, comfortable clothes. I will have blankets available if you would like one at any point during the process; some clients experience a temperature change during their session. Do not be worried that you are coming into the tuning space with a "heavy" biofield loaded with suffering; I am trained to help ground and release any energetic shifts that occur, and your experiences remain as private as you wish them to be. I will never require you to tell me anything you are uncomfortable with talking about.

The following is a Good/Better/Best spectrum of how you can consider approaching a Biofield Tuning Session. It is mostly about learning to use breath at deeper and more skillful levels. Proper breathing will improve your overall experience, and help me stay balanced too!

Good
You relax as best you can and focus on receiving. You notice emotions that surface and dissolve. You may be too tired to actively breathe deeply during the session, or you fall asleep due to exhaustion; that is totally okay and is a signal your body needed that. There is nothing wrong with falling asleep during a Biofield Tuning session.

Better
The next step in active, conscious participation is to work with your relationship to breathing. During a Biofield Tuning, you do not engage with huge breaths the whole time, you moderate yourself and feel what's right, but you are taking diaphragmatic belly breaths as much as possible with the appropriate vigor to the situation. I will cue you to take three or more deep belly breaths when we encounter points of dissonance. If powerful emotions arise, it is always a good idea to help them process through breath.
Perhaps there is friction/difficulty doing this breathing AND relaxing while seeing what arises. How can one manage open awareness while engaging with more active breath? This is inner work that can only be explored by the individual themselves. It is possible to breathe yourself more consciously, set a rhythm, and gently fade back into the perspective of the witness. You will notice and feel the impulse to breath deeply at the right time when you become more skilled at inner awareness.

Best
You are able to breath diaphragmatically as is natural and appropriate throughout the session while having a relaxed state that is open to participating in the moment's spontaneity. For example: while breathing and sensing, you noticed pain in your left arm, and asked your tuner to do on-the-body work at that area, all of which were internal "noticings", and then internal "askings" from your conscience. You didn't know that on the body work was what would take place - something in you "asked" for that to take place. To be able to have one foot in the light trance state and the other in waking reality is a skill that requires development, but you can absolutely get there with practice.
If you are preparing for a Distance Biofield Tuning, be mindful of the time you selected for your session to occur. Plan that time to be peaceful, where you can focus your mind on connecting, participating, and receiving the session. This can be laying down in bed, going on a walk outside, or sitting in meditation. Being well-hydrated is recommended. The same approaches to breathing apply at a distance as they do in person, but I may not be there to cue you; follow your intuition.

I will contact you before the distance session via text to let you know I am starting, and call once the session is complete for a check in and debrief of what I experienced during the session. I am happy to hear what you experienced as well! If you would prefer that I only send you texts, let me know and I will not call you. I will always send you a summary of the session through e-mail.

How does one connect to a distance session exactly? Through the process of your heart and mind combined. Clearly state out loud or through thought, "I am connecting to my Biofield Tuning Session with Daniel Dicken." Repeat as many times as necessary until you feel settled. Try your best to open your heart to the experience as well. You do not need to constantly remind yourself of this connection statement for the duration of the session - only whenever the intuition calls for it. Remember to never mentally strain yourself through excessive focusing of your intention to connect and "make it real"; the more relaxed the body is, the more available the Biofield will be for transformation.
During a distance session, it is okay to get up to use the bathroom, or drink water if one suddenly becomes thirsty. I will be working hologrammatically, which is why it's also okay to be engaging in gentle physical activity if one desires. Most clients like to lay down comfortably to easily focus their senses on what they notice during a session.
